NSS Unit and Eco Club of Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector-36 B, Chandigarh celebrated World Environment Day on 4th June, 2022 in collaboration with the Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration, UT. It was planned under the able guidance of Shriman Nirmal Singh Dhillon, Chairman Dev Samaj and Dr. (Mrs.) Agnese Dhillon, Principal Dev Samaj College of Education. The resource person of this activity was Mr. Rahul Mahajan, Environmentalist and Founder of Organic Sharing Foundation. The World Environment day is celebrated every year on 5th June to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet earth. The various activities were organized during this workshop like wise vertical gardening, reuse of poly bags to grow Morinda Saplings, Save trees from termite and reuse of plastic bottles. The students participated enthusiastically where they were asked to plant sapling in coke bottles and milk packets. The resource person mentioned that every member of society should adopt a plant to nurture and use preventive measures to protect that from termite. He also highlighted the vital role of students and youngsters who can participate in saving and protecting the environment. Dr. ( Mrs.) Agnese Dhillon appreciated the efforts taken by the Convenors of Eco Club, Dr. Anita Nangia and Dr. Seema Sareen. The activity was successfully carried out under the motivation of NSS Programme Officers, Dr. Madhavi Goyal and Dr. Prabhjot Kaur.
