Goodbye Stress and Welcome Joy: Leading from Within

Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector-36 B, Chandigarh organized an online workshop on “Goodbye Stress and Welcome Joy: Leading from Within.” Dr. (Mrs) Agnese Dhillon, Principal of the college was the Chief Patron of the event. Sh. Santosh Sharma, Senior Faculty, Art of Living was the esteemed resource person. The webinar began with the welcome address by Dr. Anuradha Agnihotri, Assistant Professor and the organizers of the event who welcomed Shriman Nirmal Singh Dhillon, Chairman, Dev Samaj College of Education, Secretary, Dev Samaj, Principal, faculty members and students.

The welcome address was followed by a speech from Chairman sir who also welcomed the resource person and gave his blessings to all the participants. After his speech, the music department of the college sang the college prayer ‘Mubarak Hai Janam Unka.” The resource person Sh. Santosh Sharma is an Engineer turned Life Skill Trainer and an International Faculty of ‘Soft Skill Upgrade and Happiness Quotient’. He has empowered thousands of students through Meditation and yoga for the past 11 years. Sh. Santosh Sharma addressed the teachers and students of the college.

He highlighted the data of World Health Organization which states that during the pandemic time, the stress level of individuals has increased up to 45 percent , which is an alarming number. He focused on the importance of channelizing our energy into the positive direction. He stressed that there are four sources of energy in our life which are food, sleep, breathing and meditative state of mind. We always focus on the first two sources and neglect the importance of breathing and meditation. He also carried out “Desktop Yoga” with the participants which involved exercise and meditation. To lead a peaceful and calming life, one must practise meditation under a trainer and also pay attention to the breathing.

The Principal thanked the eminent resource person for devoting his auspicious time and delivering an informative session and congratulated Dr. Anuradha Agnihotri, Assistant Professor and Mrs. Manjeet Kaur, Assistant Professor, the organizers for the success of the event.
