Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36-B, Chandigarh celebrated International Day for Biological Diversity on 22nd May, 2022 in collaboration with Eco Club, NSS Units of college and Chandigarh Administration, UT. The resource person of this Interactive Online Session was Dr. Anuradha Sekhr who spoke about the theme ‘ Building a Shared Future for all life. She mentioned that biodiversity is essential for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, ending the existential threat of climate change, halting land degradation, building food security and supporting advances in human health. She referred to biodiversity which includes biological variety in all its forms, from the genetic composition of plants and animals to cultural diversity. Biodiversity is observed on three levels, species diversity, genetic diversity, and ecosystem diversity.Moreover ,biodiversity resources are the pillars of civilization, the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, notes on the occasion of the observance of the International Day of Biodiversity.
