NSS units of Dev Samaj College, Sector 36-B, Chandigarh celebrated NSS Day on 24th September, 2019. The chief guest of the event was Ms. Navdeep Sharma, NSS Co-ordinator , Panjab University, Chandigarh. The celebration began with the college prayer " Mubarak Ho" which was further followed by the NSS Anthem "Uthein Samaj ke liye". Dr (Mrs) Agnese Dhillon welcomed the chief guest and presented a Sapling as a part of the tradition of the college. The function highlighted the significance of the National Service Scheme, a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Dr. Neeru Malik enlightened the students about NSS and its activities carried out by NSS Volunteers in 2016 till now, through a power point presentation. Speech was given and Poems were recited by the students in lieu of the event. A skit on the theme of “Plastic Free Chandigarh” was also performed. The event proceeded with the prize distribution ceremony for the active participation of students in various NSS activities conducted by the college. Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. (Mrs) Harpreet Kaur, NSS Co-ordinator,Dev Samaj College of Education. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
