The webinar began with the welcoming of the Resource Person, Principal, Faculty Members and the students. Then, the resource person began with his session in which he highlighted the signs and symptoms of HIV infection through PowerPoint presentation.

--> First, he gave an overview about HIV/AIDS in which he discussed that “Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a chronic, potentially life-threatening condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). By damaging your immune system, HIV interferes with your body's ability to fight infection and disease.HIV is a sexually transmitted infection (STI). It can also be spread by contact with infected blood or from mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth or breast-feeding. Without medication, it may take years before HIV weakens your immune system to the point that you have AIDS. There’s no cure for HIV/AIDS, but medications can dramatically slow the progression of the disease. These drugs have reduced AIDS deaths in many developed nations.” Next, he discussed several ways through which HIV spreads like infected blood, semen or vaginal secretions must enter your body. It can also spread by having sex, by sharing contaminated IV drug paraphernalia (needles and syringes) which puts you at high risk of HIV and other infectious diseases, such as hepatitis, and from blood transfusions and during pregnancy or delivery or through breast-feeding.

The session concluded with the queries of participants which the resource person answered effectively. A pre-test and post-test were also conducted before and after the webinar to assess the knowledge and attitude of the students regarding HIV/AIDS. The webinar was conducted through the Google Meet in which over 100 participants took part.
