GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATIONS'
To mark the 152ndbirth anniversary of the father of the Indian nation, Mahatma Gandhi, NSS Units and Peace Club of DevSamaj College of Education, 36-B, Chandigarh organized events for commemoration and celebration in the premises on 02 October 2021.
Floral tributes to the portrait of Gandhiji were made by Dr. (Mrs.) AgneseDhillon, Principal, faculty and students of the college. The Principal spoke about the importance of understanding true potential of Gandhian philosophy, with relevance to his universal values. This was followed by slogan writing and poster making event in offline mode.
Keeping up with the Gandhian ideals for the society, prioritizing cleanliness and taking forward his vision of 'Swachh Bharat' through sustainable initiatives, with follow up of the scheme of Government of India,one day 'Cleanliness campaign' was organized. The campaign focused on bringing a transformational change to India's approach to cleanliness and sanitation. The cleanliness drive included Plogging, in and around the college campus; faculty and students enthusiastically took part in it.A lively awareness discussion was done with the passerby and school studentsfocusing on the walk-and-pick trash on the way for clean surroundings.
By all means, the event was a great success.
