National Webinar on ‘BLENDED LEARNING: PRACTICES, ISSUES AND CHALLENGES’


To incite and promote the current technological innovation being implemented in education sector, Dev Samaj College of Education, 36-B, Chandigarh organized one-day National Webinar on ‘Blended Learning: Practices, issues and challenges’ on 25th September, 2021. The event was conducted under the patronage of respected Principal Dr. (Mrs.) AgneseDhillon with an aim to meet the requirements and challenges of new teaching tools to create blended learning models. Dr. Kanwalpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor, Institute of Educational Technology and vocational Education, PU, Chandigarh was the resource person for the event.

The session was commenced with a warm welcome extended by student hostVaishali and gave the insights of the importance of the event to the participants. Subtle spiritual venture with optimism was initiated with the college prayer sung by Ms. Rajbir Kaur, Music Department. Dr. Kiranjit Kaur, Coordinator-cum-organizing Secretary, formally welcomed the resource person and the audience joined through the online portal. This was followed with awelcome speech by Dr. (Mrs.) AgneseDhillon who apprised the need of such programs for the advancements of future prospect. She highlighted the use of multi modal approaches focusing on Blended teaching-learning mode to be used nationwide for helping the learners to develop 21st century skills alongwith the effective learning and skill development related to subject domains. Additionally, she mentioned about Flipped classroom, ICT in education and certain initiatives being conducted by GOI like Swayamprabha, Swayam etc. The question answer interactive tell-tale was also conducted.

Dr. MadhaviGoyal, Event Coordinator-cum-organizing Secretary, shared her views on the blended learning mode being enabled in the college before pandemic too and extended formal vote of thanks to the Resource person, all the faculty members and participants. The webinar was conducted on ZOOM and Live through YOUTUBE with participants joined across the nation.

By all means, the event was a great success.
