Part 2
Practical Component I: School Experience Programme

Activities
1. Observation of demonstration lessons of teacher educators.
2. Study of lesson plans.
3. Preparation of model lesson plans
4. Visit to schools to study the school environment and pupils.
5. Observation of teachers at work in school (thrust on execution of lesson)
6. Delivering discussion lessons. One in each subject (1+1=2).
7. One lesson must be delivered through multimedia presentation,
8. Observation of 15 discussion lessons in each subject (15+15=30).
9. Delivering 30 lessons in each subject (30+30=60) during two terms of experience program of total 30 working days (thrust on Planning of lessons)
10. Case study of a student Weak/Bright/Exceptional.
11. Preparation of question papers. One in each subject (1+1=2)
12. Analysis of question papers of Annual Examination (8th or 10th class) One in each subject (1+1=2)
13. Identification of mistakes generally committed by the students in concerned subjects,
14. Study of the school plant (written report of any feature of the school),
15. Keeping record of co-curricular activities held during teaching practice,
16. Delivering one final lesson (University Exam) in each subject (1+1=2)
General Note
1. At least 50% of the lessons delivered during SEP should be observed with written comments/suggestions by the supervisor-teacher-educator or school teacher/student teacher.
2. The supervisor-teacher-educator shall award the marks out of 20 on the basis of overall performance under (ii) activities
3. The teacher educator of the subject concerned will award the marks out of 25,10 and 5 respectively on the basis of performance under (iii) and (iv) activities
4. The final lesson (University Exam) will be evaluated by a team of 2 examiners (1 internal and 1 external) of the subject concerned Weight age to the various aspects for evaluation of final lesson shall be given as under:

  2. Presentation (Method, Questioning, Class- management, Student participation, Recapitulation, Assignment etc. 45 Marks
  3. Use of Instructional Aids 1 0 Marks

Simple Expressional Competencies

SEC includes following:

PART-B
BB Writing & sketching on any topics from two teaching subjects

Objectives

The programme of the Simple Expressional Competence will enable the student teachers to:
1. Acquaint them with sketching for expression and communication purpose.
2. Develop sense of organisation and aesthetic sense in them.
3. Prepare, improvise teaching aids for effective teacher learning.
4. Write legibly on Chalk-board.
5. Learn to handle and display material
Activities:
1. Simple expressional sketching in pen, pencil, pastel, poster of watercolours in flat or graded tone from life or copy from pictures to prepare charts/models for teacher (25 sketches).
2. Cutting and Pasting of 2 pictures on display boards.
3. Block lettering in ink or colour on paper in Gurmukhi, Devnagari or Roman Script. ,
4. Writing in Gurmukhi, Devnagari or Roman script and sketching on chalk board.
5. Simple freehand sketching of diagrams figures, outline maps, fields, block diagrams.
6. Using instruments and equipments such as set-squares, compass, stencils, scales, projector, overhead projector, tape recorder, T.V., V.C.R., mike etc.
7. Keeping record of these activities duly signed by the teacher educator.
General Note:
1. The teacher educator in Art will teach component II.
2. Single external examiner will do the evaluation separately of (A) and (B) who will be the teacher educator of Art in a College of Education.
3. The Principal of the College concerned will be a moderator.
4. Weightage to various aspects will be given as under

Note:
1. One period in a week for A and one period for B for a group of 45-50 students. The said periods will be taken by Art and Painting teacher. Out of two periods mentioned for B one will be taken by the Art and Painting teacher and one by the subject teacher.
2. A blind student in lieu of the above mentioned shall opt for any one of the following as per facilities available with the college.

Component III
Health and Sports Programme

Objectives:
HSP will enable the student teachers to:
1. Develop an awareness of keeping good health (Physical, Mental and Social).
2. Practice and demonstrate skills for healthy living.
3. Understand various systems of the body, their functions and care.
4. Develop knowledge and skills of safety and first aid.
5. Acquaint themselves with the harmful effects of smoking, drinking and drug-abuse.
6. Identify communicable and non-communicable diseases.
7. Appreciate small family norms.
8. Arrange healthy recreations and inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship.
9. Spot the sports talent among school students.
Activities
1. Organization of health days, sanitation weeks, etc.
2. Preparation of charts and posters (any two) on: Balanced Diet, Postures, Drug-abuse, Personal hygiene, communicable diseases, Non-communicable diseases, First-Aid and Safety, Road signs, Human Physiology, Family Welfare, Systems of Human Body etc.
3. Preparation of file on any one game including the layout of ground rules and regulations. basketball, table tennis, badminton, kho kho, volleyball and Yoga
4. Theory
  1. Physical education; meaning, aims and objectives
  2. Health education: meaning, aims and objectives
  3. Various systems on body, their functioning & effect of exercises on them
  4. Poster' meaning, postural infirmities, causes and their remedial measures
  5. Safety measures on road in school, in swimming pool, at gymanisum & play grounds etc.
5. Practical
  1. 1. Participation in one of the above mentioned six games (5 marks)
    2. Compulsory participation in the events of annual athletic meet of the college (10 marks)
    3. Discipline and regularity for the health and sports programme (5 marks)
  2. External examiner along with HSP incharge will award 30 marks on the basis of performance and participation in the practical exam of games and by conducting viva-voce exam.

CCCA programme will enable the student teachers to:
1. Develop right attitude towards dignity of labour and world of work.
2. Develop interest in leadership qualities, human relations and resourcefulness.
3. Develop favourable attitude to serve the community.
4. Organize cultural programmes and excursions.
5. Understand the importance of community living.
6. Appreciate cultural heritage.
7. Understand the importance of sanitation.
