Admission Process
Admission to the B.Ed. course is held on the basis of the results of Joint Entrance Test conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh for Education Colleges situated in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

ELIGIBLITY FOR ENTRANCE TEST FOR B.Ed.

  1. For admission to the Colleges of U.T. (Chandigarh) condition of residence is not required.
  2. UT Pool 60%: Out of the total sanctioned intake of the institutions 60% seats are filled up from amongst the students who passed their qualifying examination from colleges recognised by the Chandigarh Administration and situated in the Union Territory of Chandigarh as a regular student of the said College/ Institution, subject to the condition that such students must have studied for two years at Chandigarh and have passed one lower qualifying examination from the colleges/institutions situated in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
  3. General Pool 40%: Out of the total sanctioned intake of the institutions 40% seats are filled from amongst the students who have passed their qualifying examination from the institutions other than those located in the Union Territory of Chandigarh or otherwise.

Adherence to the decisions to the regulatory bodies
Educational qualifications as per N.C.T.E. Admission Policy for the Entrance Test for admission to the affiliated colleges of Education situated in U.T., Chandigarh and as per Panjab University rules.

Candidates possessing at least 45% marks in aggregate in the Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s degree examination of a recognised University provided the applicant has offered at least two school subjects at the first degree and post-graduate degree level. There is a relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST candidates.

In addition to the above, the candidates should have obtained at least 25% marks in the Entrance Test in the case of SC/ST candidates, and 30% marks in the Entrance Test for all other categories. Any candidate possessing even a fraction less than the above-mentioned percentage is not considered for interview.

The centre of examination is Chandigarh only. The Entrance Test for the session 2009-10 was conducted on Sunday, 5th, July 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. consisting of 75 marks. The pattern of the question paper was same as in the previous years which is as follows:

There are four options specified against each question, i.e. A, B, C, and D out of which only one is correct.

Admission to B.Ed. is made on the basis of subject combinations according to the merit in Entrance Test. The candidates are given the required subject combinations depending upon the seats available in the colleges.
